Dear Parents/Guardians;
Just one more week until spring break, even though it looks a lot like winter! We hope that no matter your plans, you enjoy your time away from the hustle and bustle of school.
Just a reminder that student-led conferences are this week, March 19th and 20th. You can register for a time slot through your mycbe account. It's a great opportunity for students to be the teacher and teach you all the things they have been learning. Don't forget that there is also book fair this week. The focus of the books is french immersion this time. Last day of classes for Kindergarten is March 18th. Last day for grades 1-5 and EES is March 19th.
Please take a look through the lost and found when you come in for conferences. Any items left over will be donated by March 31st.
The grade three students in Mrs. Hewitt's and Mrs. Batchelor's classes have been learning about the native plants in our area and their importance to a healthy ecosystem. We would like everyone to learn about these plants, so we are trying to raise money to build a permanent sign for the schoolyard.
We have two initiative that we are doing in order to support this goal. We have used student art to create a colouring book that we will be selling for $5. Information on how to order this book will be coming home this week. We also used our artwork to create bookmarks that we are selling for 50¢ at the book fair. The bookmark sale will be cash only as we need to keep our proceeds separate from the Scholastic book fair money.
Thank you for supporting this important work.
Please return the enrollment survey to your classroom teacher on Monday, March 16th if you have not already done so. This aides in our next year planning.
There is a school council meeting this Wednesday, March 18th at 6:30 pm. You can join us in person or online at this link: https://teams.microsoft.com/meet/24427241939409?p=M8IIbBJhRnK5F4p2Cx
There is fun lunch on March 19th and we are still looking for volunteers, especially for grades 3–5. If you can help, please sign up here! (A valid police clearance is required.)
Thank you—we couldn’t do this without you!
Have a great weekend!
