Weekly Message | Message de la semaine March 6, 2024

This has been an exciting week already with field trips to Bow Habitat for grade 3 students and skiing/snowboarding for grade 4/5 students. We are also so lucky to have Grandma Carol here to share her stories and many artifacts from her time living in the Arctic. The students are loving this learning!

The Scholastic Festival du Livre Library Fundraiser is coming up on March 15-22 and we are looking for volunteers to help with set up, assisting students with viewing and selling books. If you are able to help out, please sign up on the link below.

Thank you so much to all of the families who helped us with our project by collecting plastic bottle tops and sending them in to the school.  We have been studying different styles of art and important artists as a way to express our feelings and our understanding of the world.  We have also been learning about finding ways to reduce our environmental footprint by reducing, reusing, recycling (and composting), repairing, and repurposing things that we use.  We recently studied the paintings of Canadian Painter Ted Harrison. We decided to repurpose our bottle tops as a media for creating a landscape in Mr. Harrison's unique style.  Our project is nearly finished and will be displayed in the gathering space. Here is a picture in case you are unable to come by and see the artwork in person. From Mrs. Batchelor/Mrs. Hewitt’s classes.

An enrolment survey is coming home with your child that will help us with next year’s planning. Please fill it out and send it back to your child’s teacher. Thank you!
