Ensuring our students get to school safely is everyone’s responsibility. Please be mindful of crosswalks, parking rules and speed limits when you are near our schools, especially during the morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal times.
Traffic Safety Reminders from The City of Calgary
The City wants to remind and encourage anyone who is driving children to school to operate their vehicles safely and responsibly. Parents and guardians are reminded not to park where it’s prohibited during drop off and pick up times, such as blocking crosswalks, laneways and private driveways.
Pick up and drop off times can get quite busy. Give yourself extra time to navigate safely around schools, whether you are walking, wheeling, or driving. For those who drive, help alleviate congestion by parking a block or two away and walking in, wherever possible.
Talk to your kids about safe travel practices like using crosswalks with patrols, looking all ways before crossing the street and not jaywalking across the roadways as a shortcut.

The parking lot south of the school is reserved for staff 24 hours a day. Students should not be in the parking lot and it should not be used as a drop off or pick-up area or as a place to tie your dogs. Please do not cut across to the main sidewalk in front of the garbage bins to access the school grounds. The parking lot is a dangerous place and we would like to ensure the safe access of our students to our playground. Parking in front of the School (busing zone & disability parking zone) during School days as well as portions of Tuscany Hill is prohibited and monitored by Calgary Parking Authority.
Kiss and Drop Area
The area from the parking lot to the three-way stop on Tuscany Hill is a no parking zone between 8:00-9:00am and 2:30-3:30, as indicated by the many No Parking Loading Zone signs.
As such there is no parking at drop off or pick up during the day. This would include Kindergarten drop off and pick up. Rather, this area is used as a Kiss and Drop, where you can drop your children off and then proceed on with the rest of your day. Volunteers with current Police Security Clearance are always appreciated and if you would like to help in this area you can contact the Tuscany School Council Chair at tuscanycouncilchair@gmail.com for more information.
Staff Parking Lot a No-Go Zone
The Staff Parking Lot is for Tuscany School staff only. There is to be no parent parking or student drop off and pick up in this area, as indicated by the signage at the parking lot entry. Please do not park in this area or use it as drop off and pick up area.
