Jacket Racket

Jacket Racket http://jacketracketcalgary.com/ is looking for donations of coats, snow pants, hats and mittens that are clean and in good condition. Jacket Racket is running from October 18 – November 8. Donations can be placed in the marked bins in front of the school office. You can also send items along with your child in the morning but if you do so, we ask that you clearly label the item: "Jacket Racket." Thank you!

Parent Focus Group Invitation from Alberta Education

On Monday, October 30, 2023, Alberta Education will host a focus group with the intention of seeking feedback from parents. The focus group will meet from 7:00 - 8:30 pm via Zoom.
The purpose is to collect insights from a parent perspective to update the old “My Child's Learning: A Parent Resource" website to a new space hosted on new.LearnAlberta.ca. 10 – 12 parents will be identified from metro, urban and rural school divisions, representing children of varying grade ranges (K-12) to participate in this focus group. The “expression of interest” linked below, will remain open until Monday, October 23 at 5:00pm.

Safety

To help bring awareness to street safety, our School Council has created a series of fun “Traffic Safety” colouring contests for all students! The October Traffic Safety Colouring Contest entry deadline is October 23. School Council has also purchased a Tuscany School Traffic Safety Moose Mascot that is currently sitting on the front desk in the office, as a friendly and helpful reminder of the safety rules around our school. Thank you everyone for thinking twice and for choosing SAFETY over convenience, setting a good example by slowing down, crossing at marked intersections, and understanding and adhering to the informative parking signs.

Lunchroom

Lunch registration is now available through MyCBE accounts. You can access the system through MyCBE. If you do not yet have a MyCBE Account, learn how to create one here: https://cbe.ab.ca/support/Pages/MyCBE-PowerSchool-Creating-Account.aspx

Last week we welcomed a new Lunchroom Supervisor to our team – Ms. Kruti Acharya.

Families please send a fork or spoon with your child if the foods you are sending require these. We have currently exhausted our supply of plastic utensils at the school and have ordered more, however, it is preferential for students to have their own reusable utensils in their lunch kits for foods that require this. Thank you!

New Principal – Welcome Lesley Scullion

We are pleased to welcome Lesley Scullion to our school as the new Principal, starting on November 6. Please see Friday’s message from the school Lesley’s introductory letter.

Thank you for being a peaceful, safe and mindful community,

Laura Devitt, Acting Principal
