Principal's Message Oct. 23-27 | Veteran's Food Drive, Lunchroom, Busing, Spirit Wear, Remembrance Day, Fundraiser, Conferences

Bonjour École Tuscany School Families!

Surprise! The snow has arrived. As we know, Calgary can have all kinds of weather conditions at any time of year. Thank you to parents for ensuring students are wearing appropriate outdoor clothing to school. We have been so happy to see boots, snow pants, warm jackets, mittens and gloves worn to school yesterday and today! Dressing for the weather really helps your child have an enjoyable time outdoors as, teachers at École Tuscany School continue to take students outdoors to learn from the land, get fresh air and exercise. We do not stay indoors unless the weather is severe. The temperature cut off for an inclement weather day to be declared is -20C.

Veterans Food Bank Drive

Tuscany School is thankful for all the work our military personnel and Veterans have done to serve our community and communities around the world. To show our appreciation and support, we will be holding a Veteran's Food Bank Drive for two weeks, from November 1 to November 15. Please consider purchasing an extra non-perishable food item the next time you are shopping. Students can bring donations to school during the dates of our drive and place them in the collection boxes outside their classrooms. A list of most requested items can be found by clicking on this link: Most Requested Veteran's Food Bank Items

Lunchroom

Lunch registration is now available through MyCBE accounts. Students who stay to eat lunch at school must be registered for Lunch Supervision. You can access the system through MyCBE If you do not yet have a MyCBE Account, learn how to create one here: https://cbe.ab.ca/support/Pages/MyCBE-PowerSchool-Creating-Account.aspx

Bussing

A reminder that all bus inquiries go through CBE Transportation. Tuscany School does not manage anything related to bussing, including bus registration and fees. Parents can check for bussing delays and updates at | My Bus Stop

École Tuscany School Spirit Wear

Once again, our amazing School Council has set up École Tuscany School Spirit Wear. If you are interested, please take a look at the two options: Ryder and Reece OR Promo Addict Questions regarding sizing or payment can be directed to Jocelyn at Promo Addict: jocelyn@thepromoaddict.com. The last day to order spirit wear is Sunday, October 29.

Remembrance Day

On Wednesday, November 8th, École Tuscany School students will pay tribute to the courage and resilience of Veterans. Through heartfelt presentations and a moment of silence, we will help our students reflect on the significance of the sacrifices of Veterans. We will hold two Remembrance Day assemblies, one in French and one in English: French assembly starts at 10:00am. English assembly starts at 10:40am.

Parents of performing students are welcome to attend the designated assembly. Your child's classroom teacher will email you if their class is performing. If you do choose to attend, we ask that you consider the seriousness and solemnity of a Remembrance Day assembly and make other arrangements for babies and toddlers who may not be able to sit quietly for the length of the assembly.

Purdy’s Fundraiser
