Principal's Weekly Message Sept 11
Hello Bonjour Tuscany School Families,
Meet the Teacher Night
Information was shared this morning for our Meet the Teacher night on Thursday Sept 21. This is an excellent opportunity to see what’s happening in the classroom and to hear about what students will be learning this year. Please sign up online for a time slot and don’t forget to book a time with Mr. Chapman for music, as well as Mme Roussy if your child is in French Immersion. Please note, these are not 1:1 Parent/Teacher conferences. Conferences are held in November and March of each year. Meet the Teacher allows for small groups of families to come in at the same time and learn about the class and what is happening this year. Any specific questions or concerns about student progress or IPPs should be held in private and not at Meet the Teacher night.
Optional French Classes for Parents & Guardians
Chinook Learning Services offers courses specifically designed for parents and caregivers of CBE French Immersion students. For Fall 2023, Chinook Learning Services is once again offering French for Parents – Level 1 classes. This eight-week course will help parents of bilingual students learn or refresh their French language skills, build their network of bilingual parents and support their children’s learning at home.

School Council Updates
Our first school council meeting will be this Thursday September 14th at 6:30pm at the school in the Gathering Space. All parents are welcome to attend. If this is your first time coming, please note that it does get “boring” for the little ones and it's probably best if they stay home. If you are unable to attend in person, please join us online through TEAMS. Meeting Link
There is no need to download any software. You may join through your browser on any internet connected device.
We look forward to seeing everyone there. Please email Mariana, our Council Chair, if you have any questions. tuscanycouncilchair@gmail.com

Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids
Last year, we teamed with BB4CKs to support families in need. BB4CKs provides a healthy snack and a sandwich for kids in need during the school day. We don’t want any of our students to go hungry while at school. If your family could use support through this program, please reach out to me directly. Student and family names are kept confidential.
Morning Arrival
Please review this information with whomever is responsible for dropping off your child at school. A reminder, morning supervision for grades 1-5 students begins at 8:15. Please note, that supervision is around the entry doors, and the compound. There are no supervisors in the field or the community park in the morning. Please do not drop off children before 8:15 unless supervised by an accompanying adult.
Please do not drop off your child in the kiss n drop if you are late. Kindergarten parents / guardians are expected to stay with their child until the teacher brings them in (CBE bussed kindergarten children are supervised).
