Principal's Weekly Message | Sept 5
Hello Bonjour Tuscany School Families,
Forms
A number of important forms were sent home on Friday (and today for PM Kinder) in your child’s blue communication folder. Please ensure the forms that need to be completed (Volunteer Registration Form & Admirable Use Policy) are sent back to school as soon as possible.
There are also very important digital forms that need to be completed yearly in your parent portal of PowerSchool – SchoolEngage, including the Demographic Verification, the Student Health Plan, Annual Authorization, and Lunch Registration. Please take the time to complete these by September 15th. Please ensure all Before and After Care providers are listed under contacts “pick up drop off” this includes: Coded Minds, Tuscany Club, Fit Kids, Royal Oak Day Care, etc.
School Council Updates
Our first school council meeting will be on Thursday September 14th at 6:30pm at the school in the Gathering Space. If you are unable to attend in person, please join us online. A link will be sent the week of the meeting.
Our School Council Chair sent an email last week, if you have not received it, please ensure you are signed up for School Council emails. Please subscribe to School Council emails at: https://tinyurl.com/tuscanyschoolcouncil. *This is not the same as CBE messenger.
Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids
Last year, we teamed with BB4CKs to support families in need. BB4CKs provides a healthy snack and a sandwich for kids in need during the school day. We don’t want any of our students to go hungry while at school. If your family could use support through this program, please reach out to me directly. Student and family names are kept confidential.
Morning Arrival
It’s best if your child can line up at their regular entry door with their class in the morning. This allows them to participate in the regular morning entry routine. Outdoor supervision for grades 1-5 students begins at 8:15 in the morning. Please note, that supervision is around the entry doors, and the compound. There are no supervisors in the field or the community park in the morning. Please do not drop off children before 8:15 unless supervised by an accompanying adult. Please review with your child that when they hear the bell ring at 8:27am, they need to proceed to their line up right away, and should not continue playing. If your child arrives after the bell, please accompany them through the front doors and sign them in. Please do not drop off your child in the kiss n drop if you are late. Kindergarten parents/guardians are expected to stay with their child until the teacher brings them in (CBE bussed kindergarten children are supervised).
Due to the Air Quality Index sitting at a 7 this morning, we opted to bring students in as per our “inclement weather” procedure. On inclement weather days (very smokey, colder than -20, and hard rain) staff are stationed at entry doors and students can enter the school at 8:15.
